Military and Veterans

Military and Veteran Services

Every day in San Diego County, families deal with deployment, separation and reunification with family members, and readjusting to daily life, among the complex maze of issues these individuals face. Often times the most difficult problem is not knowing where to turn when help is needed.

Because San Diego County has the greatest installation of military and the highest concentration of veterans, 2-1-1 San Diego has built a Military and Veteran Program to serve as a single access point of help for military service members, veterans and their families in San Diego County, as well as a single access point of information for leaders and agencies regarding this population’s data and trends of needs. Through this program, 2-1-1 is establishing a foundation from which agencies, community based organizations, and key leaders can collaborate to recognize the current needs and emerging trends of the population, to ultimately redirect current services to ensure that the necessary services are available to military and veteran populations seeking them.

The demographics and needs of military and veteran clients, as well as their families, seeking assistance from 2-1-1 are detailed in the below reports.
