About ADAP (AIDS Drug Assistance Program)
Federal/California prescription drug assistance program funded by the Ryan White CARE legislation and state funds. Provides HIV-related prescription drugs and related medications to under-insured and uninsured individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Provides therapeutics (including devices necessary to administer pharmaceuticals) to treat AIDS disease or prevent the serious deterioration of health, including treatment of opportunistic infections. Serves as gateway to broad array of healthcare and supportive services funded through the CARE Act and to other sources of coverage in Medicaid, Medicare, and other private insurance. Program administered by the Ramsell Corporation [formerly known as Professional Management Development Corporation (PMDC)] under contract with the California Department of Health Services.
