About Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program

Services Provided: Rental Arrears Assistance: Assistance with paying past due rent. Maximum payment is for two months up to $1000 per month.
Rental Payment: Payment of rent for up to $1000 per month with assistance up to 18 months. Security Deposit: Payment of security deposit for moving into an apartment, with assistance up to $1000.
Utility Deposit: Onetime payment of utility deposit for up to $100.
Utility Assistance: Payment of monthly utilities with assistance up to $125 per month for up to 18 months.
Legal representation and credit counseling: Legal representation and support for tenant related issues. Credit counseling to assist with tenant resources. Services provided by Legal Aid Society of San Diego.

  • Areas Served: National City
  • Eligibility: Fall at or below 50% median income Be a US citizen or legal resident Live in or be homeless in National City. Being homeless is based on HUD definitions Have exhausted all applicable resources that may assist with housing need. This includes being on the Section 8 waiting list(if applicable). Demonstrate willingness and capacity to participate in a self-sufficiency plan (which may include participating in the Family Self Sufficiency Program.)

  • Transportation: Public transportation is within 2-3 blocks of the agency. Limited transportation can be provided or arranged depending upon situation. Home visits may also be arranged.
