About Oral Health Initiative (First 5 OHI)

The Oral Health Initiative seeks to improve the oral health of children under the age of 6. The program focuses on direct patient care, increased capacity, and countywide efforts with specifications for unique geographic and cultural communities. Components of the initiative include oral health screenings and exams for children and pregnant women, treatment for children and pregnant women with identified oral health issues, and parent and caregiver education.

  • Areas Served: East, North Inland
  • Eligibility: Families with children under the age of 6, pregnant women, and women up to three months postpartum.
  • Fees: Sliding scale fees based on income and family size. Accepts Healthy Families and Medi-Cal for children; CMS and Ryan White for adults (does not accept private insurance. No fees charged to adults who qualify for the Health Care for the Homeless program. The Pauma Valley location takes some private insurance such as Delta Dental but caller must call clinic and confirm patient is in the network.
